Terms
ProofKit is software for one job: getting the artwork a customer approved onto the press. These are the terms that come with it.
The free plugin
The free version is published on WordPress.org under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. It is free to install, use and modify under that licence, on as many sites as you like, with no account and no time limit.
ProofKit Pro
Pro is an annual licence sold per site: Solo covers 1 site, Shop covers 3, Agency covers 10. A licence includes updates and email support for its term. Additional sites need the next tier up or a second licence.
Pro is sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record. That means Lemon Squeezy handles the payment, the invoice and any sales tax or VAT, and its checkout terms apply to the transaction. Prices are in US dollars.
The founding price ($149 / $299 / $599) is available to the first 50 customers and stays fixed for as long as the subscription continues without a gap. After that the list price applies: $199 / $399 / $799 per year.
Renewal and lapse
Licences renew annually at the list price current at renewal; renewing before the expiry date takes 20% off. There are no lifetime licences, and none will be sold later.
If a licence lapses, the plugin keeps working on your site with the features it already has. What stops is updates and support. Nothing is switched off, no data is locked, and proofs already stored stay readable.
Support
Support is by email at proofkitwp@proton.me, on business days, with a reasonable effort to answer within two working days. There is no uptime or response-time guarantee beyond that.
The $249 setup service is optional. It covers configuring materials, pricing and proof settings on one store. It is refundable before work starts and not after the configuration has been delivered.
What you may not do
You may not resell, sublicense or redistribute licence keys, or run Pro on more sites than the licence covers. You may not remove the licence check. The free plugin's GPL rights are unaffected by this section.
Responsibility
ProofKit records which file a customer approved, and keeps that record. It does not inspect artwork, check colour separations or decide whether a file is printable. The shop remains responsible for the final check before a job goes to press. Keep that in mind when the approval page says a proof was approved: it is evidence of what the customer signed off, not a quality guarantee.
The software is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it.
Changes
These terms may change for future purchases and renewals. The version that applied when you bought or renewed is the one that governs that term.
